Alpine gear on the Eurostar

Hey all, 

I was looking online as planning for a trip to the alps this summer (for first alpine routes) and the eurostar seems to not allow sharp objects, screwdrivers, drills or hammers. 

I was wondering if anyone has had issues with taking crampons, ice axes and ice screws on/in bags while using the eurostar? 

On the back of this is there a way round this (if it is an issue), such as wrapping axe heads or taking off the picks.
