Has anyone done this interesting thematic crossword. Have got most of the answers, but they are quite a few I don't understand even after looking up the answers!

Me too. And now I'm distracted by today's Picaroon. 

It is slow going. I've got barely more than a quarter of it and haven't yet identified the theme.

I got most of the way in the end, without definitely realising what the theme was or how to use it. Country codes? Which clues couldn't you parse?

Abandoned for now and probably for ever in favour of the always easier Everyman, which I did as usual over an extended coffee or two, and the new Prize which is almost there.

I got the theme quite quickly, maybe from 34d or 49d, happy to message anyone who wants it, rather than give away a spoiler.

Clues I haven't got yet are:

Across 6, 17, 21, 30, 40, 44, 64

Down 7, 11, 13, 14, 22, 29, 31 35

Happy to supply answers to any of the others..

I've got more to get than that, but many of your to-gets are the same as mine.

If I just want the answers, I could go just go here https://www.danword.com/ and type in the clues, but that's no fun.
