Seeing pictures and video of the ques of people on the summit ridge clipped into the fixed lines like it is a via ferrata got me wondering how secure the fixed line is.
It looks like for quite long stretches the only anchors would be snow stakes. Is that what they use? or do they manage to dig down to solid ice or rock?
The only times I've used snow stakes I wasn't very happy with them, even just for two of us, but I guess they could be secure if they are long enough and the snow is consolidated enough.
