I've gotten a bit fed up of ordering online and praying shoes will fit nicely as late and would like to actually go to a store that has decent levels of stock and more importantly stock half sizes. I'm a 9.5 in most walking shoes to date and yet all the bigger stores around me (usual suspects - Go Outdoors, Cotswold Outdoors) have good options but don't stock half sizes for most of their range and the ones I tried on in both stores in my budget just weren't right on full sizes. I'm happy to travel too, within reason, especially if somewhere has really good service.

Ellis-Brigham, Snow & Rock and Taunton Leisure would be worth checking out. 

You're spoilt for choice in Bristol really. 

Banana fingers warehouse has a shop, right in Bristol and obviously has a massive range in stock. 

Up and Under in Cardiff. Easy drive, or train, or train and cycle. Amazing customer service. They won't sell you something that won't work for you or you don't need. 

Seconded. They were more than happy to let me try +/- half sizes on rock shoes to make sure of the fit.

I went to the banana fingers warehouse on the way through Bristol last year to try on a load of climbing shoes, they had loads in stock and presumably you can check the website before to see what they have, or call them. The person working there was very helpful with checking stock and disappearing to bring back armfuls of boxes for me. It was great.
