Wanting a 100m abseil rope in preparation for a trip to pabbay + mingulay. Nothing super special. Wondering if anyone has one I could borrow or buy from them?

Alternatively, there's still space on the boat if you want to come along

Based in Leeds, thank you all.

Inglesport do some decent value stuff if you want to buy new. It's where I went for mine.

Id recommend a bit longer. the rigging on top can take up a fair bit of length up. Also take more rope protectors than you think you will need. Have a great trip!

Second that. It is very versatile to source a separate 10m static for rigging, which you can use for other set-ups in the mainland too.

I like a separate 10m static for rigging. That way you can take or leave if you need it and it comes in handy for lots of other things you won't need a 100m length attached to it for. Also if it gets ragged and needs replacing, you only have to replaced the 10m rigging rope rather than having to cut bits off your ab rope.

Edit: beaten to it!

A good point for having a separate bit for rigging. I seem to remember the ab into Prophecy of drowning and U-ei were just over 100m, especially on U-ei.

I got a good deal on 100m one before Pabbay a few years ago.

Think it's semi static, but it's fine and good value:

Just about fits in a DMM bucket rope bag.

Anyone with any sense won't lend you one as Pabbay does eat ropes - the advice about rope protectors (think I took about 6 and as a group we had loads) and a separate rope to rig is very sound.

Bear in mind that semi-static rope, like climbing rope, shrinks with usage, so allow for 10% shrinkage. Cavers usually pre-soak their ropes before cutting them to the required length.
