I have a pair of old skool leather boots, bought in the 90's. Very stiff, they take crampons. Winter climbing was never my thing, I only used them 5 times, so they're in good nick. Do people still use these kinds boots, I wondered if they'd be worth trying to sell?

By coincidence I have some similar boots of a similar age, hardly used as my joints began to malfunction and my feet spread, so I'll be interested  in the replies too.

Fond memories of bruised feet/black toenails after a long day...

Modern B3 boots might be ridiculously expensive but jeez they're comfortable and light... I'd keep the old leathers for your next polar expedition...boil them up when you run out of food

Whether or not they'd still be usable depends on the sole construction. Non-TPU midsoles lasted ages but were very hard and uncomfortable to walk on, TPU midsoles tend to degrade and crumble over time (hydrolisis). So even if they look okay, they might crumble after a few km's. I've seen a number of student climbers on old second-hand boots with taped soles because they fell off over time - don't be the a** who sold them those!

Whether or not anybody would WANT to use them - that's another question. Maybe a collector. Or they make nice plant pots.

What brand/model and when in the 90s? I sold some mid 90s Scarpa Fitzroy a few years back on eBay for no problem. If you are honest about them and don't ask for much, I'm sure you can sell them and could do some one a favour.
