Approaching from the road at the first path turning right immediately after crossing the ditch and then taking the first opportunity to climb the hill. Encountered a buttress only a few meters into the wood and traversing it to the right there was a dirty vegetated slab with a dead tree and a live tree beyond which there was a gully with a projecting block to which access was made, to its right, by a wide crack full of large angular chock stones. This took me to the top of what looked like a separate pinnacle. Belayed there. The second pitch traversed under a wall following a horizontal flake left into a corner. Bridge up that via a peg onto a rising right wards traverse along a narrow ramp to a small belay at a small oak tree. The slab above the belay rose up to a small sharp edged overhang. My partner couldn’t climb that slab where it steppened up next to the overhanging block so we abved from the tree.
thiught we were in the first two pitches of Christmas curry but it wasn’t a severe. VS possibly or perhaps HVS.
can anyone suggest where I was before we abseiled down yesterday.
