Lawrencefield bouldering - Rockfax?

Was just looking through  Lawrencefield in the logbooks here on UKC. I can see that lots of the "new" bouldering problems down the southern end, Lawrencefield in the Woods - Bole Hill Sidings for example, now have the Rockfax symbol next to them, but I can't find any reference to them on the Rockfax app. Is this a mistake? Or is there a soon to be released Rockfax guide to bouldering there?

Yes... to which of the two proffered options? 😀

Based on many similar questions and answers posted recently, that answer was to your second Q: “…is there a soon to be released Rockfax guide to bouldering there?”

I haven't noticed any similar questions or answers, so thanks. What thread can I find those answers in?

In reply to TobyA:

99% of the time if you you see a Rockfax symbol it’s already on Rockfax Digital. In the 1% of cases where it isn’t it’s a sign that it’s being worked on and will be soon.

I think I've found a bunch that are currently in that special 1% then! 😀 Hoping to go up there later to try Howard's Slab (HVS 5a) and make use of Graeme H's cleaning efforts and have been looking for  cool looking boulder problems to entice child 2 to try, so that he can hold my rope on the trad climb! Top parenting skills maybe? ;-) He wants to try the Stone Mason Sidepulls or whatever it's called - that I believe you were praising not too long ago. I'll do some more f4s I suspect! 😆

Thanks! Missed those.

Next: for any Lawrencefield bouldering fans - what problem is it in the photo below? We thought it is probably Desperation Geano (f6A+) and although the Rockfax description fits, the UKC Logbooks Description doesn't really. Also, as far as I can remember, I've never done f6A+ before although there aren't any easier problems on that bloc, and whilst it was hard and perhaps my style, I doubt it's that hard..

I also did Howard's Slab (HVS 5a) - a lovely little climb, bomber gear in part a result of being so thoroughly cleaned by Graeme H. (cheers Graeme!) - but a complete steal at HVS. Get there soon and get the HVS tick before it gets regraded to HS 4c, perhaps even S 4b.

If you checked the app today, you'd find it is on there....... (You are right re Desperation Geano)

Fiend has a bunch of the new things on  YouTube. I haven't been yet, but they look good.

I've got an FA as well! Very exciting although it is for I think the easiest problem on the cliff. 😆

None of them are new problems, all existing but it was his cleaning, particularly the top outs on some of these and the documentation in the above video kick started the interest that brought the venue into vogue this winter. Without this I don't think we would be seeing this useful addition to the Rockfax app and Peak bouldering circuit which is practically useful on blustery winters days.

It was off the back of a tour round with Matt that I made several visits cleaning up a few other problems myself and spotting the trad lines i cleaned

Climbed Howard's Slab this evening with a friend. She thought that the climbing was harder than the moves on Gingerbread, which we did afterwards. But Howard's is significantly better protected. So I would probably go for HS 4c.

The righthand version of the Slab is also pretty good, perhaps it should have its own entry as 'Howard's Way'?
