In 2008, James Pearson made the first ascent of The Walk of Life Dyer's Lookout on the North Devon Coast. The route climbs a direct start to Ian Vickers' Dyer Straits (E8 6c) which was protected by pegs.  At the time Pearson graded the route E12 7a but after much debate and repeats from some of the country's top climbers, the grade settled at around E9 6c. An absolutely great climbing movie by any standards. Just fabulous, particularly the last 3 minutes and particularly the last minute.

FYI, Rock and Ice posts a Weekend whipper video each Friday evening. They usually run 60-90 seconds and involve some yahoo with a Gopro falling off a sport route. 

By contrast, the FRI NIGHT VIDs on UKC usually run 10-24 minutes and are excellent films of proper adventures.  

I guess most US climbers are a bunch of sporto-pansies with short attention spans. Ouch. Can I pretend to be a Brit on Friday nights if I watch your films and take my beer warm? Please?

Dunno - do you enjoy wearing (never washed) Ron Hill tracksters, get gripped on anything harder than Vdiff, and never fall off ( slumping on a bolt at your local wall doesn't count)?  If so, then probably.

The way he kept his balance by running backwards for so long on his fall was amazing.

It's very satisfying to see that after all the grade stuff fades away the route's quality shines through. It has a colourful history and is a cracking line, all very trad, well done to Pearson and also Vickers.
