Liming's ace. Well worth the effort to get to. Couple of things to add. 'The Firewall' has had a repeat. Enzo Oddo ticked it off pretty quickly when he was there earlier this year. And there's also a limestone sport climbing area in Shigu just 60km away if you want a break from stuffing body parts in cracks. Currently 180 routes grade 5.7 to 5.14a and a few multipitch routes. Huge potential and a number of active bolters resident in the valley. Well worth a trip if you're visiting Liming.

climbshigu.com has info in English and Chinese. They have a climbers' hostel and do a lot of bolting. Basic route guide also available climbshigu.com/climb/topos.html

Liming and Shigu are both excellent. Highly recommended !

Here is the facebook page for the climber's hostel in Shigu. https://www.facebook.com/Stone-Drum-House-704227753043677/

Great place, lovely people.

If you pass through Kunming there is good steep bolted limestone near the city too: http://kunmingrock.com/

When you talk about long approaches how intense and long does that mean? Do you get as trashed from the walking as from the climbing?

The approaches aren't that bad. Dinner wall, above the village in the second photo, is one of the closest with a roughly 20 minute uphill walk in through grass/scrub. A lot of the other crags are about the same distance from the road but can be a couple of miles up the road from the village. We either got a lift from the couple running Faraway or hitched.
