Koyamada strikes me as a very emotional climber. I remember watching footage of him on another problem, a very low start of a Dave Graham problem I believe that bumped the grade from V14 to V15/16, and he was practically crying when he finally hit the jug. After he topped out he was just in a daze of quiet celebration. Perhaps it's a cultural thing, he just seems to approach bouldering with a different mindset from many Western climbers.
