We are looking for a Duty Manager, on a full-time contract, to join our passionate and welcoming crew at Substation Macclesfield. 

Ideally candidates will have a background in customer service, front of house and account management, with a passion for people and community. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Please note this role is split 50% on Duty Manager responsibilities and 50% on Community Engagement responsibilities  

Daily responsibilities: 

  • Carrying out opening and closing checklists 
  • Checking in climbers and yoga customers 
  • Front of house duties including taking orders, serving food and drinks 
  • Making coffee and other drinks produced in house 
  • Working with the kitchen to ensure customers orders are taken and presented in a timely and professional manner 
  • Clearing and cleaning tables after every customer with disinfectant spray 
  • Centre check every hour 
  • Answering the phone to customers 
  • Checking and responding to answer phone messages 
  • Responding to emails and social media 
  • Restocking of display fridge 
  • Represent Substations core values while interacting with customers and networking with partner organisations 

Management responsibilities: 

  • Opening / closing the centre. Ensuring all start up and close down operations are completed 
  • Provide regular updates of day to day centre operations to the General Manager 
  • Responsible person in case of an emergency 
  • Deal with and rectify customer complaints 
  • Deliver the training and signing off of new staff under the direction of the General Manager 
  • Maintains all records and training 
  • In the event that no General Manager is present assumes the role of Duty Manager with the exception of the advanced duties 
  • The authority on all disputes, if the General Manager is not present 
  • Aid in the training of new staff under the direction of the General manager 
  • Be First Aid at Work trained 
  • Advanced fire and safety trained 
  • Ensuring the weekly, fortnightly and 4 weekly deep cleaning rota is carried out day to day 
  • Assisting in delivering high standard events 

Community Outreach responsibilities:  

  • Account managing existing relationships with schools, youth groups and local companies 
  • Seeking new customers through promoting Substation using phonecalls, emails and visits to schools, youth groups and local companies 
  • Keeping the CRM database up to date with all communications and tasks 
  • Supporting staff behind the desk with providing important information about each booking 
  • With direction from Head of Community Outreach, create resources to promote Substation out in the community 
  • Promoting Substation at local markets and fairs

OTHER INFORMATION

  • DBS check needed 
  • 40 hours per week - mixture of days evenings and weekends 
  • Role split 20 hours working on the desk (front of house) and 20 hours working on community outreach 
  • Driving License and access to a car is essential  

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 1+ year Supervisor or Duty Manager experience 
  • 1+ year Hospitality, or Front of House experience 
  • 1+ year Account Management, or Sales experience

Hours: Full time, Permanent

Salary: Dependant on experience 
£11.00 - £11.75 per hour, plus K.P.I bonus
