Rockcity

For some time Rockcity has been supporting one of the most up and coming young stars of the UK climbing scene, Jim Pope. Now Rockcity is very proud to announce that it is able to give support to one of the worlds best climbers, the UK’s very own Steve McClure.

As part of the climbing industry its important to remember how much we need to support our greatest athletes and inspirations. Much of the work we do is aimed at and for the benefit of us, the general climbing public. Especially in the case of indoor walls. We all need to remember that without such inspirational role models as we have in Steve and Jim that we wouldn’t have our own dreams to chase. For us at Rockcity they both are unbelievable performers.

'Steve has become a close member of the Rockcity family and we have all benefited from his input to the centre, particularly as our Chief Route Setter. Working alongside Steve for the last few years we felt we wanted to do more than just employ him to route set.

'Our industry has grown considerably in the last 20 years and we should be doing more to support those that inspire us the most.’  Mark English, Rockcity.

Now Rockcity has expanded with their Wall2Wall services, supplying both innovative climbing holds and textured wall solutions to other climbing walls it is keen to build on its relationship with Steve McClure as both a professional rock climber and also as a professional route setter.

I've been a regular route and boulder setter at Rockcity now for five years, and have been impressed and inspired at the way the wall has developed into one of the leading facilities in the country, not only with state of the art surfaces, but also their own range of holds. I'm proud to be associated with such a forward thinking business. Rockcity is a centre with climbing at the core of its business, supporting climbers from grass routes to the pinnacle of performance.’ – Steve McClure.
