Every year, the scruffy, down jacket wearing outdoor types from around the country descend upon the city of Sheffield for the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival. Now entering its 11th year, ShAFF promises to be extra special as the beating heart of The Sheffield Outdoor City Weekender - a series of coordinated events across the city to celebrate outdoor sports.

Here are UKC’s picks of what to see over the weekend at the Showroom Cinema. To book tickets simply click on the film programme titles and it'll take you straight through to the booking page on the ShAFF website.

Climb Films 1, Friday 19.15 and Sunday 14.30

Following a wave of commendations from film festival judges and audiences around the world, Jen Randall and Claire Carter’s Operation Moffat continued to impress the ShAFF judges and picked up awards in Women in Adventure, Best Climbing Film and the esteemed Best film of the Festival categories. Needless to say, if you haven’t seen this then make sure you do.

Also in this programme is: High and Mighty, Eden, Showdown at Horseshoe Hell, Frank and the Tower.

ShAFF judge Paul Hodgson said : ‘Operation Moffat is the incredible story of 90 year old adventurer Gwen Moffat: barefoot climber, crime writer, cold water swimmer, a woman whose love for mountains know no bounds. An extraordinary record of an extraordinary life, lived by an extraordinary person.’
