Outdoor Trainees Opportunity, Glenmore Lodge, Recruitment Premier Post, 2 weeks @ GBP 75pw We are offering an exciting training scheme opportunity, aimed at helping those seeking a career in the outdoor sector.

With an expected start date of 01 April 2017, this is a one year traineeship ending in April 2018 and offers the opportunity to the successful candidates to participate in a range of outdoor training courses throughout the duration of the programme. These range from introductory courses to Mountain Leader (Summer), SPA, UKCC Paddlesports level 1, British Cycling Mountain Bike Leader award level 2. British Canoe Union star awards and Velotech bike maintenance awards. During the winter seasons you will be able to get started working towards Mountain Leader winter.

In return for this opportunity, sportscotland expects the successful candidates to contribute to the successful operation of the centre, primarily fulfilling the role of centre assistant supporting the in-house catering and house team. For this, we are offering a tax- free living allowance of £5,000 (pro-rata, less £100 per month for meals and accommodation).

This is a really exciting opportunity for people seeking outdoor qualifications who can work within a team and a busy outdoor centre supporting the customer experience whilst laying the foundations for an outdoor career. You need to be enthusiastic, able to work alongside other trainees on the programme and with the centre operations team. You should also have the determination to gain a minimum of at least two National Governing Body awards whilst on the programme.

Due to the entry requirements of the qualifications you must be 18 years of age to apply. Fixed term April 2017 to April 2018.
