Rockfax Description
The square-cut arete requires stacks of commitment and technique. Each move is harder than the one before, all the way to the ledge! Almost always done above a stack of pads at f6C+ these days. It is a very different proposition without them! © Rockfax

Got to going into the scoop, but couldn't fully commit with only 2 pads, so down climbed, keen to come back with more pads!

Ground up above many pads, still bloody scary! Second try today after a few retreats years ago.

2nd go. Got pretty gripped below the break. Chuffed.

Couldn't commit to this, blamed getting too sweaty at the less positive holds getting into the scoop at the top. Good jump!

Really pleased to get the o/s.. utterly brilliant and a memorable climbing experience despite being above the snow and pads! Exciting top out though, avoiding the wet parts in fading light :)

Snowball to break, platform low enough to do all the hard climbing. Really nice.

Snowball ascent - downclimbed Goliaths Groove which was sopping wet.. Had to have a word with myself after that!

Never thought I'd do this, not particularly valid as proper snow platform. Good though.

fantastic. Making the most of the generous snowdrift, pads, team psyche and perfect friction. Felt fine but so stoked to do it after a number of onsight retreats years ago.
