Rockfax Description
12m. A fine climb, the first to breach the Wave's defences. A right-trending line leads to a worrying stretch for the break. Shuffle right and pull over the centre of the huge thread. © Rockfax

4 attempts. Almost got past the broken hold with tiny crimps, but couldn't move off them to the break. Wasn't really up for taking that drop too many times. Fun climbing up to there though! 1 pad

Fell badly after I tried going direct over the lip and landed on my back on the ground. Freaking huge fall. Nothing broke. Next time read the guidebook first >.<

Ground up! Foolishly slipped off after a couple of moves and blew the onsight, Gutted as it went ok second time! Apart from the fact that it was NAILS! Move to break is hard!

Dave Warburton 08/Jul/09 Lead G/U

Thought i was going to break my legs reaching for the break. The moves were hard to the break and the reach was nearly too much for me, so much so i gave everything and ended up having to have a cheeky-tightish rope-rest under the roof. Never mind! Quality Quality Route!

wish I had soloed it.

Hard hard hard! Jumped from the break twice and called it a day. Lack of commitment/reach/talent to blame.

Climbed ground up with no mats. Gear in break is quite good but hard to get the cams just right so the don't walk out of the flared crack.

circa 1997. Bouldered out the start. Surprised myself getting to the break. Didn't fancy soloing the top so got a rope thrown up, tied a bowline on handed, pulled up a couple of runners then led the finish. Big thanks to everyone who helped out, it was an expensive round in the pub later!
