Rockfax Description
Usually started from the mid-height ledge. This is reached from the right (looking in). Climb the right arete of the buttress via a thin crack to a baffling move on a hidden pocket which gives access the front face. Keep right to finish. Starting up a crack below the upper arete is also possible. © Rockfax

Went first time for me today. I’d failed on it a couple of years ago and had to abb for my gear so I’d got a better idea where the hidden pocket was. Still devious with an upside down hand jam and tenuous knee bar. Excellent.

Took a massive lob falling off the arête and the 'bomber' cam ripped as well as another cam in the flared break. Luckily the shit cam in the upper horizontal break held. Safe fall. The yellow size 2 cam fits much better than the red one in the bmx guidebook picture . Whole route was a bit sandy as were the cam placements which is why they probably came out. Needs more traffic There's bomber gear in the break a few metres below the crux too

Managed to miss the elusive pocket.

spent ages going the wrong way when it's actually much easier to go direct to the break.

Got sandbagged by a shit description in the bmc guide telling us to go left to a hidden pocket that doesn't exist. Cracking route.

A bad rest can be had if you have shorter legs! Not very well protected, would be a bad fall.
