Flavio 25 Feb, 2018 Lead O/S Got lost on approach to Crowberry and traversed high into this. Heard it was climbed recently but wasn't keen till I saw how impressive it looks from below.. 1st part was the technical crux, even harder with crampon trapped in the runner mid move. 2nd part the psychological crux with the chimney and ice falling apart from recent ascents. Felt VI 7 currently, but only winter climbing for 2 months so what do I know! At least others agree... Amazing day and sunset at the summit!

ferdia 24 Feb, 2018 AltLd O/S Maybe VI 7 in current condition. No helpful ice on bottom crux. Interesting moves though, delicate feet and blind hooking and axe wedging made possible only by the exact dimensions of my adze... Top was really varied and fun.

Andy Moles 24 Feb, 2018 AltLd Lower hard parts a mixture of dry rock and verglas. Passing first chockstone felt insecure tech 7. Second half of the route in the icy grooves was in good condition.

benclimbing 7 Mar, 2016 AltLd Desperately hard for V. No way. The pull over the first chockstone had good gear but was nails pulling up on crud etc. Took the left hand option at the gully fork. 2 pitches to the top from there. The peg belays were reassuring but there was poor gear on the lead. Harrowing stuff climbing crud with big run outs!

olekemi 4 Feb, 2015 AltLd This was hard. No ice on the chockstones where needed (impressive effort by Jeremy on the crux), unconsolidated ice in between made it serious, and lots of digging and shuffling of snow. Safe to say, this will be memorable. The last pitch was confusing, we went up right-hand side which included intricate body-jamming, and the route is longer than the guidebook indicates. And, on a route that hardly sees traffic, another team came up behind us.

Andrew Sloan 6 Apr, 2013 AltLd dnf At first chockstone the left wall was dry despite extensive ice lower down the mountain. I managed to tentatively pull up to a thin rotten runnel of ice to the side of the chockstone which was just not solid enough to pull up on. Gave up after 2 falls and continued on up Great gully. Would definitely 'go' if a bit more ice.

Andrew Barker 1 Apr, 2013 AltLd O/S A brilliant route that doesn't let up. I was lucky not to fall on the lead on the second chockstone pitch as one axe ripped while I had all my weight on it and landed on the handle of the other which was fortunately well-wedged.

Ken Applegate 1 Apr, 2013 AltLd Absolutely amazing! Climbed two pitches up the Direct Finish, but retreated back to the fork to finish up the normal route, which was no push over. Took left hand finish.
