Rockfax Description
The bold and imposing arete. Climb onto the Pulpit
via a traverse from the right then balance up the exciting
edge (low gear) to easier ground. Either of the steep
twin diagonal cracks below the ridge can be used
as a harder Direct Start (5a). © Rockfax

AdamFreeman 24 Jul, 2016 Lead O/S Very misleading grade, seems way too dangerous (doubtful size 2 nut as only protection for upper section, with 10m deck out if it fails). Great climb though, got the heart racing.

wahniel 31 Jul, 2011 2nd O/S we did this with a long preplaced runner placed from nil desperandum. The arete has thin moves high up which are hard 5a in my opinion. without protection of the preplaced runner this should be E2 - a fall of the top of the arete would likely be fatal. HVS 4c is a dangerously misleading grade for this. With the runner it 's VS 5a.
