Rockfax Description
A poor approach but a better second pitch. Start as for Trilon.
1) 15m. Climb the groove and traverse to the yew tree and belay.
2) 5b, 34m. Climb the crack in the slab to a spike and move up and left on flakes to a small roof. Move right below the roof and move round it via a thin crack to gain the upper groove. Follow this until you can move left to the tree belay as for Shadow Wall.
3) 8m. As for the last pitch of Shadow Wall or abseil off the tree. © Rockfax
UKC Logbook Description
Both Goldcrest and Quasimodo share the same start and finish. After pulling over the roof Goldcrest steps slightly left into a stunning clean groove whereas Quasimodo pulls into the right hand groove which is climbed by a good jamming crack to reach a (dying) tree. Move left beneath the tree to rejoin Goldcrest. Both finish at the top of Shadow Wall just above and right of the abseil tree.
