Surprisingly technical, cheesey and loose, class tho! lead p1, mad exposure at the top as well to add to the spice!

Richard Kendrick 16/Jul/17 AltLd O/S

Loose and sandy...

Did this earlier this year but Rich wanted to do 'the beautiful red groove' so did this as a warm up. This time led P1, having seconded it the day before for Creeping Lemma - leading certainly focused the mind. Seconding P2 was ok but a bit awkward in places. Certainly not as intense as leading it last time!

Phil4000 03/Jun/17 Lead O/S

Led both pitches. Should be called the sand! Fun but scary.

Psychological warm up for the season... Sam quickly dispatched P1, which is relatively solid - I thought worth E1 5b. Then I spent a while shuffling up P2. It's slabby and has lots of in balance rests, with some tricky moves in between (mostly because you don't want to pull on anything too hard), so it's very engaging but never physical. One of he handholds I used came off straight after I used it :-0 Fair bit of gear, some of which was decent. E3 5b/c. Brown and Crew must have had balls of steel.

Nicely contrasting pitches. Good steady climbing. Lead P1.

From the cool P1 of Creeping Lemma. Absolutely terrifying P2. No large cams.. I won't be able to eat cheese in the same way ever again.

I lead first pitch and Ron the second pitch which has a dusty groove all the way up the left side but otherwise has has good solid holds and protection .Brilliant

Simply a stunning sandy shuffle. Great moves al the way. (Just did the top pitch as it was getting late). Karin got many extra large Camelot's in (3, and 4's)

Led P2. Scary getting started then steady climbing with more reasonable gear than I'd expected. Hard moves right at the top.

Lead p2. Sandy, was glad for the gear after the slightly scary start. Safe enough but for one run out when I couldn't get any gear in. Technical crux at the top. Fairly steady, e1 climbing on suspect rock.

Brilliant, sustained, serious. Scary all the way but especially the last 20ft. E3,5b.

Led P1. P2 very dusty in lower part and hard to start

with Rich Rogers
Duncan Campbell 12/Jun/12 AltLd O/S

Led p2. Very dusty, only had a normal rack of blue to blue camalots so couldn't make use of the big cam placements, though these would be sketchy due to dusty, cheesy rock. Felt quite sustained, it keeps coming to the end, defo with some 5c as in NWR. Got quite a lot of goodish wires of varying sizes, though due to rock quality or lack of, none are fully bomber. A brilliant pitch, but awkward and solid at the E3 grade IMO.

Last pitch only after traversing too far on The Moon. Awesome slabby pitch despite being covered in dust and loose! Hold broke on me at the start and I ended up back on the belay ledge!

Led P1. I thought this was utter class, the top pitch is amazing and totally absorbing when you're on it. Less than perfect rock but decent / good gear throughout, definitely worth bringing 2-3 large cams for top pitch. The hardest bit was gaining where the wall meets the slab but it keeps coming right to the end with a couple of trickier sections. Perhaps it was lack of familiarity with the terrain or because I was seconding but some of this seemed 5c to me. Possibly for the same reasons but I can't understand why this is bottom of the E3s in NW Rock. I can see it isn't so physical but it demands much more than many of the E3s much higher in that list; upper end E3 for me, Alex sums it up well below.

2nd pitch, superb! Bit wet but still steady climbing and plenty of gear available (allbeit in slightly soft rock) Low in the grade, highly recommended

Very poor protection, Sind is Welsh for sand apparently, very appropriate. This was one of the loosest climbs I have ever done, not difficult climbing but disconcerting given the nature of the rock and questionable protection. Good fun though!

Hated this climb, terrified even seconding by the nasty state of the rock, impressed that Mick managed to lead it. We did this as Alec & Steve were putting up Creeping Lemma and trundling some huge blocks into the sea. Would have been happy if the whole crag was trundled, surprised it is still standing...
