38m, 3 pitches.

Rockfax Description
A fine series of pitches on very good rock. Good stances and protection make this an enjoyable outing.
1) 5a, 14m. Follow the thin crack-line up the wall to the left of the wide zig-zag crack. Belay on the terrace.
2) 4c, 6m. With runners in the corner-crack, climb the wall on its right to the upper terrace.
3) 4c, 15m. The long straight crack in the wall is a fitting finale. © Rockfax

Excellent route. Lovely rock, good gear.

No matter which way you go the approach is a total slog. Worth it though for three excellent pitches of exposed but fairly straightforward and well protected joy.

George_Surf 06/Jul/17 Lead O/S

This was the best route there. Pitch 1 balancy but safe. P2 is the left hand (very clean) of the 2 slabs with some gear to midway but steady climbing. Pitch 3 is the safe juggy crack. The whole route is totally clean. Put in new ab station near top of emperors new toes (thread and sling) 50m

P1(Cracking pitch)& P2, P3 was sopping wet and manky, a trowel and a towel might have been a good addition to the rack. Deffo easier to walk in from the bothy, the bushwhack round as per the approach description is dire.

Top pitch was a bit mossy and wet in places but other than that in condition and a good climb. nicely exposed on the top of the mountain with not another sole to be seen. On a bank holiday at that.

Led p1 and p3. Lovely climbing. Top pitch a big wet and dirty, but not too much. Walk in around the lake from the bothy.

P1 Only. Couldn't work out where the 2nd pitch was and the upper crag was wet anyhow - pity. Really nice 1st pitch though.

Fine climbing in a fine setting. Ignore guidebook approach directions and go what looks like the long way round instead, via the far shore, passing the bothy. Much easier than bushwhacking, and so quicker.

Oversold in the guidebook, though worth doing - maybe even worth the mildly epic walk-in. HVS 4c 5a 4b - hard to match description to rock on P2.

Great climb. Three good varied pitches (5a, 4c, 4c). Tim lead first, Dunc second and me the final. Only problem was being eaten alive by midges!

Magic place. Big escape terraces made the route feel two star.
