Use a pocket to reach the flake, then climb up and left to finish. A right-hand finish has been claimed but it is an eliminate. © Rockfax

Felt quite pumpy in the heat! Rested on gear at the flake, and found my self desperately pumped traversing over to the mantle and very nearly came off again! Fought my way up it eventually

Decent line. Softish for E1.

I went for the lead first, I took the "go left" bit a little too literally and did not try to use the hold up right to make that move at all. As expected, got boxed doing that. Seconded it clean after Olly took the lead.

Nice route that's not E1 I think. Enough gear to still be top end HVS.

E1 5B

Theeni 28/Apr/12 Lead

HVS 5b my foot, this is E1 of anyone's money. I didn't have the balls to rockover above the flake and ended up slapping out high right for a horrible high side pull at about 5c. Mike seconded it in the correct style. Gear for the crux was okay bu pumpy to place and below your waist when you start the move. Wouldn't have wanted to fall rocking over: a massive sandbag at HVS.

Definitely harder than Tinner and Right-hand Twin
