1) 5, 50m. Climb any of the steep turfy grooves to a ledge and a ramp leaning rightwards to gain the snow field
2) 2, 60m. Climb easily across the snow field
3) 3, 45m. Head up and right to steeper ground
4) 4, 110m. Link the snow patches via a vague series of grooves, lots of options exist in this area. © Rockfax

Big day out! 18hrs van to van! Route finding was really complicated, it's not helped by the two topos for the route in the guide showing what looks like different lines! Conditions were good, turf was mostly frozen and some useful thin ice low down. I took a small lead fall backing off a thin chimney on pitch 6 where the crucial turf blob wasn't frozen. Traversed right and climbed a section of the adjacent route before traversing back onto the line. All good fun! =o)

We used the start of this to access Passchendaele Direct. I think Mike didn't fancy the lower pitch of the Direct and though I don't blame him, I suspect it might have been better protected!
