Rockfax Description
An atmospheric tour of the heart of the East Buttress. Start at a vertical grassy break between two short walls, just up from the lowest point of the buttress as for The Yellow Slab.
1) 4c, 32m. Head up easy ground to below a slabby ramp and climb it passing a couple of overhangs to a ledge. Ascend the short steep corner at the back of the ledge. Move left and up to a belay on a ledge next to a small pinnacle below two cracks.
2) 4b, 9m. Climb the cracks above to a belay below an overhang.
3) 4b, 26m. Head rightwards across the slab and move up a short wall onto another slabby ledge. Continue right on the ledge system past another small step to a grassy recess.
4) 4a, 30m. Climb the corner and chimney before heading right to reach a long slab (possible belay). Finish more easily up the broken slab and gully. © Rockfax
