30 minute approach from ?Les Planisses? parking (before the barrier). Two pitches of Grade IV to begin, then continuous II/III climbing and scrambling along the ridge, before a final grade IV crack (some bolts). Descent is via the footpath to the north, approx 1hr. Slings and a set of wires needed, basic cams not unhelpful. A classic route, never harder than f4/HS+

βeta: Fantastic Alpinesque ridge, and deserves 3 stars. I agree that an alpine grade of AD or AD+ would be the most accurate way of grading a ridge like this. Most of it is grade 1-3 scrambling, but the crux parts are absolutely not VDiff, and more like HS/VS, in terms of climbing. | βeta? | |

βeta: It is not Vdiff and really ridiculous to suggest an average team will climb the full ridge in 3hrs. A better grade reflecting the length and Alpine nature ie moving together, exposure etc would be AD sup. | βeta? | |

βeta: There is a very intimidating step across on the first pitch. Felt harder than VD. It is so very exposed along the ridge. You definitely want a small trad rack with you. The less stop after the first pitch! You really need to be moving fast to hope to do it all. Amazing though. Would like to go back and complete it!! | βeta? | |
