High Tor is managed by Derbyshire Dales District Council (DDDC) and there is a regular wardening service in operation. There are no major access problems at High Tor, but climbers should take careful note of the following agreed guidelines:
Reason: Nesting Birds
High Tor is a SSSI of extremely high botanical value with some very rare grasses and plants located around the crag. Climbers are requested to be especially careful not to trample grass at the base of the crag and to stick to the established paths so as not to damage plants on the wooded approaches.
Rockfax Description
Climb up the left-hand of two short grooves, then move up left to the base of the lower ramp. Continue up the ramp before moving back left to gain some flakes. Pull over into the next ramp and move up right to join Memories to finish. © Rockfax
UKC Logbook Description
Redescribed now the route has been straightened out. Start below the shallow red-stained groove 2m left of the start of Memories. Climb direct past a peg and slight bulge onto the base of the lower ramp. Move up this until a thin pull across the wall on the left (thread) leads to a pull rightwards over the bulge onto the start of the upper ramp. Continue direct to finish as for Memories. (Originally started by moving right from Y Front and pulled onto the top ramp via the flake on the right - now taken by Memories - finishing rightwards to a top-out exit. This is now overgrown and best avoided.
