Dates: 28 April to 30 June
Reason: Nesting Birds
2023 update: There are Kestrels nesting in Cascara Crack again this year. The restriction applies to Cascara Crack to SAE inclusive.
For Pulpit Groove and Suspense/etc please either top out or belay back in the trees away from the edge of the ledge to help avoid disturbing the birds.
Rockfax Description
Climb either crack in the right-hand side of the slab (the right-hand one is easier) to a short jamming crack; up this to a tricky move onto a ledge and an awkward finish on flat holds. © Rockfax

βeta: Led this after Ben backed off, so clipped three bits of his gear. Very sketchy and wet inside the cracks, felt spicy for hs. Hot aches didn't help. | βeta?

βeta: This was quite dirty when I did it. Well, not excessively but the whole route had a thin layer of mud over it. | βeta?

βeta: What on Earth is the logic behind grading this VS 4b. It has only one hard move (which is probably only 4a really) and it is safer than a very safe thing. Surely HS 4b if not S 4b. All the same, a very nice route. | βeta?

βeta: Never hard, but nicely sustained (for a short route anyway) and very plesant. I dont see why it should be VS 4b though, HS 4b or VS 4c. | βeta?

βeta: A pleasant HS route when clean, better in winter when the ants at the top don't attack you. | βeta?
