HUGE Logbook Updates on UKC!

© UKC News

We've just gone live with a massive update to our logbooks section (route database) on UKC. The logbooks are hugely popular, with thousands of climbs ticked every week, and a database of over 336,000 routes!

There's really too many changes to list but here's a brief overview with screenshots detailing some of the new features.

Top tip: there's a  button at the top right of the majority of the new pages. Click on that to get a tour of the new features.

For those of you interested in the code side of things, our technical guys have had their work cut out with this update and at the base of the article you can see a table that gives an indication of how much work has gone in to this update... tens of thousands of lines of code!

Also worth noting is that you can choose your preferred type of bouldering grade for your own logbook now (are you a V grade or a Font grade kind of climber?) and also if you're into hill walking, our sister site UKHillwalking.com has had an update on her Hill Page too.

We'd like to give a big thank you to Paul Phillips and Martin McKenna for their hard work on this part of the site - nice work chaps!

Brilliant effort guys, thanks for all the work. My log book just flagged up the fact that I did a route with Alan James 10 years ago and never recorded it! Chris

A day in the life? Although the codes were very small they had to count them all... !;-) Really pleased to see latest RAD information on the main crag link amongst a whole load of good looking changes.

When looking at a climb in the database, the names of the adjacent routes used to appear as clickables which was useful (especially lookin at link ups and extensions where you'd want to look at the route... Erm... Route). Now there is just arrows. Was this intentional? Was the first thing I noticed while trying to find a bit of info just now.
