Alizée Dufraisse has climbed Proa con fin mas hulk extension (9a) in the Ali Baba Cave at Rodellar. It was her 3rd 9a after ticking La Reina Mora in 2012 and Estado Critico in 2017, both at Siurana.

"Proa Fin de Ali Hulk Extention" (9a) 🔥 I first climbed in the Ali Baba Cave because @dave_graham_ 's ❤️ main project was there. At the beginning I started by trying "Hulk" (8b+), which took me a looong time to understand. I struggled so much 👿. I was told that it's probably not my style and I would be better off focusing on other climbs, but I was having fun trying to find my own way up this crazy route, so I decided to just climb and enjoy it 😊. After I finally did this pitch, I quickly climbed the extensions. My body adapted to the style and I could finally express myself while climbing in the cave. It took me, I think, three sessions for the 8c version and four more to do the 8c+ Extension Total. For the Proa start, the route I wanted to do since I first arrived in the cave, it took me maybe eight more sessions 🤓. I had to fight with every attempt, falling after giving it my all, with a lot of pain in my arms and legs. On my last go, I almost fell in the final moves, even though they were pretty easy, since my entire body was fully pumped. I finally clipped the anchor of this beautiful prow a few days ago 🥳. I am super psyched! I am proud I continued down the path of the unknown to arrive at this place. Now I feel well prepared for the next projects 🤓. 📷: @josepmalo @tenayaclimbing @climb_up_officiel @rab.equipment @sendclimbing @organicclimbing

Dufraisse began attempting routes in the Ali Baba Cave back in September. Her first mission was to complete Hulk (8b+), which she said 'took her a long time to understand.' After completing the route, she quickly climbed the extensions Hulk Extensión Total (8c+), Fin de Ali Hulk Extension (8c+) and Fin de Ali Hulk Extension Total (8c+).

The Ali Baba Cave was made famous when Dani Andrada completed Ali Hulk Extension Total Sit (9a+) in 2007. It was very unusual at the time, mixing the genres of bouldering and sport climbing. The hardest routes in the cave tend to start as boulder problems and link into routes in the high 8s.

Proa con fin mas hulk extension links a Font 8A+ boulder problem into Fin de Ali Hulk Extension Total (8c+). It was originally given 9a/+ by Dani Andrada in 2007. The 9a took Dufraisse 15 sessions in total, including the sessions working on the easier versions.

Writing about her ascent on Instagram, she said: 'I had to fight with every attempt, falling after giving it my all, with a lot of pain in my arms and legs. On my last go, I almost fell in the final moves, even though they were pretty easy since my entire body was fully pumped. I finally clipped the anchor of this beautiful prow a few days ago.'

Dufraisse explains that she first climbed in the Cave because it was where her partner, Dave Graham, had a long-term project. He completed Ali Hulk Sit Start Extension Total (9b) two weeks ago.
