Fri Night Vid Mari Salvesen on the Profile Wall, Norway
This week's Friday Night Video takes us to the Profile Wall in Jøssingfjord on the south coast of Norway, where Mari Salvesen is attempting to complete Premiere Moments (7c).
Norwegian climber Mari Salvesen recently became only the second person to flash the infamously burly Belly Full of Bad Berries (5.13b), a 24m overhanging offwidth crack in Indian Creek, first climbed by Brad Jackson.
The first person to flash the line was none other than Wide Boy Pete Whittaker in 2011. Both Alex Honnold and Adam Ondra failed to flash the line, with Ondra declaring his second-attempt ascent to be "one the biggest fights of [his] life".
A new video filmed by Pete Whittaker shows a 15-minute edit of Mari's battle on the line, which involves core-intensive, limb-bruising inverted jamming and upside-down rests.
As the Wide Boyz themselves stated in the video description, "This is a massively significant ascent in offwidth climbing, crack climbing and women's trad climbing."
Commenting on Instagram, Mari - very understatedly - said:
"I'm just happy I pulled it off. It was hard work."

I believe Adam Ondra failed to onsight the route.
Big difference between onsight and flash. As well as holds and technique being pointed out to her whilst climbing, she may have studied videos.
Still a mightily impressive achievement.
