Aidan Roberts climbs two top-end projects
Aidan Roberts has made ascents of two of his hardest projects, The Midnight Project, and the The Helvellyn Project.
Aidan Roberts has made the first ascent of Shadow Women, an 8C boulder at Kentmere Boulders in the Lake District.
Shadow Women (f8C) starts deep beneath the Giant Stone at Kentmere Boulders, and adds four additional hand moves to the pre-existing John Gaskins boulder Little Women (f8B+).

Whilst Little Women was originally proposed to be 8A+ by Gaskins, it is generally accepted to be at least 8B, potentially 8B+. The video of Aidan's FA of Shadow Women features footage of him on Little Women, and suggests the grade 8B+, with Will Bosi similarly suggesting that Little Women 'could be 8B+ now' after he repeated it last year.
Speaking of the sit-start, Aidan said that it 'adds a few quite full-on, quite punchy, heel-hook-y crimp moves to the start of Little Women, but it makes the start of Little Women a bit harder, and then you've got Little Women, which is actually not very easy, so it's quite a hard boulder!'
The boulder is Aidan's eleventh at 8C, and his eighth first ascent at the grade. He has made four further first ascents at 8C+, as well as a 9A repeat of Shawn Raboutou's Alphane (f9A).
