Jakob Schubert climbing Perfecto Mundo (9b+)Video

© Jakob Schubert

In late 2019, Austrian climber Jakob Schubert made the third ascent of Alex Megos' Perfecto Mundo (9b+) at Margalef. After his successful qualification for the Olympics at the World Championships in Hachioji, Japan, he skipped the last few World Cups to give himself the best chance of climbing the route and after a promising start, a mental battle ensues. The film below follows Schubert throughout his process of attempting the route.

Perfecto Mundo was bolted by Chris Sharma, who had been attempting the route on and off for several years before Alex Megos made the first ascent in May 2018. Schubert was the fifth climber to reach the grade of 9b+ and had previously climbed several 9bs.
