The Challenge is now into its second year you can see some of last year's winners here. The shortlist is chosen by a panel of experts from Berghaus and Climb Magazine and then readers have the opportunity to choose the winner online.
The December 2011 Award was won by Riding the tears of Everest - Darren Clarkson-King.
The November 2011 Award was won by The Trans Papua Expedition - Will Millard and Callum Fester.
The October 2011 Award was won by the Amputee Adventurers - Mark O'Leary and a team of 11.
The September 2011 Award was won by Free Isolated Venezuelan Big Wall - George Ullirch and Team.
January Shortlist - Voting ends on Monday 16th January at 5pm
1) TEAM Jackal - Ash Holbook and Andrew Parks
The duo plan to kayak 2,400 miles around the coast of Great Britain. This is the first time this challenge has been attempted in a double kayak and the team hope to break many more records along the way and raise £250,000 for charity.
2) Just Going for a Stroll - James Thomas O'Connor
Solo adventurer, James Thomas, plans to walk from Edinburgh, Scotland to Dunedin, New Zealand. The journey will take him across 3 continents, through 15 countries and over 12,000 miles taking over 2 years to complete. James will be also be fundraising for UNICEF along the way.
3) 5000 Mile Project - Katharine and David Lowrie
The team of 2 will run, unsupported, the length of South America in a year. They will cover 5,000 miles – the equivalent of 2000 marathons. Along the way they hope to raise £50,000 for conservation projects.
