The Challenge is now into its second year you can see some of last year's winners here. The shortlist is chosen by a panel of experts from Berghaus and Climb Magazine and then readers have the opportunity to choose the winner online.
The October 2011 Award was won by the Amputee Adventurers - Mark O'Leary and a team of 11.
The September 2011 Award was won by Free Isolated Venezuelan Big Wall - George Ullirch and Team.
November Shortlist - Voting ends on Monday 14th at 5pm
1) Walk America - Nick and Lucy Russell
Married couple Nick and Lucy Russell plan to cross the USA on foot covering 3,000 miles across 9 states. Obstacles along the way include: searing heat in the deserts, the threat of packs of wild dogs, snakes, bears, tornadoes and attempting to traverse some of America's mega-highways.
2) Irish/Polish Lhotse Expedition - Anselm Murphy and Pawel Michalski
Anselm Murphy and climbing partner Pawel Michalski plan to attempt Lhotse, the fourth highest mountain on earth (8516m) via the original route of the west face. They will do this without using any sherpa support or oxygen.
3) The Trans Papua Expedition - Will Millard and Callum Fester
Will Millard and Callum Fester will attempt to make the first unbroken and unsupported crossing of West Papua via the Noordoost and Mamberamo rivers. They will travel over 1000km through challenging swampland and vast primary rainforests, over the top of the largest mountain range.
