Monika has to find time to climb while also being a parent to three children and running a rope access company. In the last two years, she has completed expeditions to Alaska, Chile and Pakistan while continuing to climb at the highest level closer to home in the Alps.
Monika said: “I'm already familiar with Berghaus and have used the brand's products throughout my career, so I know that they can help me achieve my many climbing objectives. I look forward to working with the rest of the Berghaus climbers and the product team on many exciting projects.”
The appointment comes at a time when Berghaus is making further inroads into the women's market. Working with its female athletes and other specialists such as mountain guides, the brand continues to make major investments in, and improvements to, its women's specific kit, led by female product managers and designers.
Berghaus marketing director Sarah Sculpher comments: “Monika is a very talented athlete who has excelled in her fields. We are delighted to have her on board as part of our team, and look forward to working alongside her, using her valuable feedback to help further enhance our women's specific products.”
Another recent addition to the sponsored team is extreme sports fanatic Julia Pickering.
