first off - awesome photo, this is the first photo i've ever commented on, and possibly voted on, so well done! with possible travel plans to this part of the world this photo has definitely inspired me to go over the pass. I love the clarity of the image and simple colours. Initially I thought it would be worth cropping a little of the bottom but even the snow is perfectly exposed and adds interest to the photo - great work.

Reminds me of the work of Vittorio Sella (late 19th C Italian mountaineer and photgrapher).
Very, very good.

Very, very good.
Thanks a lot for your comments guys. I must admit I get a 'warm and fuzzy' feeling if a photo inspires someone to travel or to climb or just to get out there.

Wonderful shot, really evokes the feel of the place (not that I've ever been there!) and the figures show just how awesome the scale is.

Was this the place where the Chinese shot the Tibetan women?

Absolutely terrific photo

Spectacular photo. Did you under expose to enhance the contrast, or is it just the natural light?

wildeybeast. It was actually quite a diffused kind of light day with patches of light coming through.
