Best part of an hour was spent trying to climb this waterfall pitch, neared hyperthermia, I'll be sectioning myself soon enough

Brilliant! Must climb this one day (but think I'll wait for a dry spell!)

Did actually manage to climb the waterfall - lost a lot of finger nails and bits of skin... we had to abort the gully via desperate climb out after 8hours wrestling with stuff like this

Excellent stuff, have a 5. When we did the route almost exactly a year earlier, I got the toes of my left foot slightly damp on this pitch :-)

Ahh! We were thinking about climbing this today, but decided it might not be dry enough yet. The gully is taunting me; I can see it out of my bedroom window...

Well titled. I'd have missed the climber. Bet you enjoyed yourselves despite all that water :)

yep, this pitch filled my left boot but it was considerably drier than you had it......what a climb

Having come back and climbed the whole thing from the bottom up a year later (with low water levels this time), I would say this waterfall chimney of the lower section 4 or so pitches below the great cave and therefore the right water branch, remains the crux. Even in low water levels I recommend hiking socks over shoes. I still got soaked, although crucially not nearly drowned like last time, as the water course draws you in in search of protection. There is another very hard pitch before the right fork and the Great Cave Pitch arrives. Good luck.
