Holy christ! What happened here - did you fall off but not let go?
beardy mike - 27/Jan/10
If you layback that doesn't happen.

If you know how to jam that doesn't happen.

Lol. Do you do much jamming then elcapitankev?. And laybacking it is a ridiculous idea.
Jonny2vests - 27/Jan/10
Once you place the 'jam' don't move your hand about or else...

Hah, yes indeed. I hasten to say that those are not my hands but of my friends, who shall remain anonymous. nothing like a bit of gritstone climbing to get the blood moving!
elcapitainkev - 27/Jan/10
it's only a 10m route. your "friend" is clearly doing something very wrong...

this was my mates first time on the grit and was quite new to climbing. Clearly jamming is a skill he has not mastered yet. But for those people who were there watching him flail, it was an awesome site of real determination and will power. I am sure he will return to this route one day and climb it in good style. I love your comments about only being 10 m doing stuff wrong etc. Clearly you have forgotten your early days on rock or were taught to jam straight from the womb!

Good old UKC armchair climbers right there!
Fannies.

Fannies.
I second the Fannies comments and add Eggits.
Someone that tries this hard deserves to be admired. Remember that next time you slump onto your gear without a proper fight!

read "The Villain" - it doesnt matter how good you are at jamming, it will still damage your hands (although perhaps not that badly on such a short route!)
