It was a shame that the light was so poor for this shot, but I still think it was well worth the effort to photograph such a classic route from a different angle. The abseil proved a bit worrying though because I wasn't very happy with my anchors at the top!

one of my favourite climbing images, you get real empathy with the move, its the angle that makes it and be nice to see more like this maybe try and get even closer.

I don't think the 'poor light' matters at all here. It's a superb shot, capturing perfectly the strange technical awkwardness of the crux move - a genuine puzzle to work out, I think 5a for that one move. (I've never understood people who find the bulge on the upper arete to be the crux. I was never much cop at balance climbing but really that is a piece of piss, on perfect rock.)
