The belay ledge is a foothold below the corner AIR. Great photo. We only did it as Ron James recommended it as eminently suitable for 'the married hardman'.

Indeed - fairly well protected. You will notice that the EBs look rather new - they were my "hard route" EBs, 1/2 size too small. That was a mistake.

The double ropes, Norwegian sweater and downward view onto (yes, your exceptionally immaculate) EBs bring back memories. I did this with John Syrett in 1970 during a temperature inversion - the top of the buttress was just above a sea of cloud.

Did it with Rob Matherson sometime back in the mists of time ( late 70s) in a moac waist belt, rememeber them!!!! all because his dad didn't fancy the approach!!
