"Dwi'n un o hogia'r garreg las - yn wreiddiol o 'Stiniog". A first-language Welsh speaker; happily married to a horse-mad South Shropshire lass, with three sons who get their existence partly from me and their good looks, wit, charm and intelligence from their mother ....

Co-author (with Doug Kerr) of the new 'Central Wales - Elenydd' climbing guide book, published by Steep Stone (May 2018) and now on sale.

Currently working on the new 'Welsh Grit' (Rhinogydd area) guide book; checking existing routes and climbing new ones. Also involved with the development of new sport climbing crags in Mid Wales.

BMC Access Rep for Central Wales & Ceredigion coast.

Best Climbing Experience
Life isn't measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away. So going to the right place, at the right time, with the right people is all that really matters. What one does is purely incidental.

Logbooks Volunteer
Moderator for 31 crags, checking missing climbs added to the logbooks: Clogwyn y Bustach (Moelwyns), Gareg-Iwyd, Vague Dome, Craig y Merched, Carreg yr Ogof, Craig Yr Wrysgan, Barmouth Slabs, Spitzkoppe, Clarach Bay, Craig Cnwch ... plus 21 more

Interests Outside Climbing
Overland exploration - vast empty spaces, deserts especially, hold a huge fascination. Otherwise an eclectic mix of music, films, books, miniature dachshunds, North Africa, Utah, SRT caving, mine exploration and canals.
After over half a lifetime and a small fortune spent on Solihull's "finest" , rehab (by Toyota) has worked and my Land Rover addiction is finally cured.... :-)
