i really like this :) not over-done in the editing, and more interesting than all the boring mountain-scapes... :p . and its almscliff too so... extra points there obviously!

Yes I agree; I like the chalk that marks the start of the problem and leads the eye in with a classic zig-zag. A fresh view of familiar and much photographed problem.

An evening of surreal and disturbing post-processing.

Hi Fiend, thanks for the feedback. Just to clarify there was very little in the way of editing. I managed to get the desired affect using a series of my Lee Filters. Granted I have brought out the shadows on the rock and increased the whites to help bring out the chalk, I do try my best to get any desired affects in camera. As always though, feedback is much valued.

Surely it is irrelevant whether the surreal effects are achieved in camera or in post-processing if the end result is the same.

Yes because it requires almost zero skill to bang some sliders to the left and the right in Photoshop until you go oooo that looks nice. Unlike using a series of filters and knowing how to use a camera properly which does require skill and imagination. Using two ND grads here to allow me to show the detail in the rock is hardly extreme editing, im pretty sure Joe Cornish does it all the time.
