Wow! Did you get a video of it? Never heard of anyone doing this before although I'm sure someone'll be along shortly to prove me wrong.

The Leap is seemingly so named after a (mad?) rider on horseback who once apparently did the same. Sadly, the horse's reaction to committing to the jump remains unrecorded. It has also been done a number of times before without any equine aid although one may, quite reasonably, muse as to 'why?' - as failure would oh-so-obviously result in a trip to the morgue rather than A&E. Good pic though of a very brave and equally foolish individual.

I had very lucky escape in May 1994. I jumped across unroped and fell back from grassy landing. After bouncing off rock I landed in water and survived with broken wrist and knee cap. The epic was described in "On the Edge, Number 43, AUG / SEPT 1994 in a column titled "Slippery Pole". I have never thanked properly all climbers who put themselves in danger to rescue me as well as coastguard helicopter crew and staff in Haverfordwest hospital.
