Was there much of a snowfield at the base? - has been amazing weather (no longer).

There is a small snow patch which is probably even smaller now, but it is completely avoidable. I did the route previously mid June 2018 (during another heatwave), the snowpatch then was much larger. Although we had a much more successful winter that year.
