Gulp! Wow. Almost enough to make me want to go and do it!

Cheers. Not fully recomended due to the state of the seracs and the very over hanging cornice for the moment (see http://www.ukclimbing.com/images/dbpage.html?id=96461 that icicle ending overhanging bit of snow top right is the cornice...nasty!)

This works so well as all the diagonals gently direct the eye down the abyss to reveal the amazing exposure. A small part of the 'landing zone' is sunlit too, which reinforces this effect. Nice one.

Brilliant pic, brings back happy - and not so happy - memories. Also - how exactly do skiers point their planks down THAT?

Thanks for the comments. Was another beautiful morning. Pretty serious ski descent for sure- the main problem being that the snow in the couloir doesn't come into good ski conditions very often. Been trying to get a ski shot of this at sunrise for a while now...fingers crossed for this year!

We did the pillar the day after Sylvan Sudan skied it for the first time, couldnt understand the tracks until we saw it writ up in the hut book.
