Hallo all,

Heading to the Gower with family in a couple of months and my wife and I are looking to get some bouldering in while we're there. Any particular recommendations for somewhere with a decent range of V0-6, ideally in a pleasant location? Also, if there are physical guidebooks all the better as there's always space on the shelf for a new guidebook.

Cheers

Gower isn't exactly a mecca for bouldering, but Limeslade Crag is worth a look; pebble beach, easy access, generally not too high, and The Arc (V4)/Taste The Rainbow (V8) are proper quality (assuming you find the cave dry). It's tidal, but so is all of the easier bouldering I'm aware of on Gower; Bacon Hole and Equal Opportunities at  Three Cliffs Bay are above any tides but pretty much entirely in the sevens/eights and not particularly easy to find, although if you know where you're going the approach to Bacon Hole isn't too bad and it'd be a cool place to check out with kids.

The best resource at the moment is the SWMC wiki - https://swmc.org.uk/wiki/Sewerpipe - but I believe that some of the bouldering is covered in the Pesda Press Gower Rock. More interestingly there's a full-on bouldering guide on its way, which will hopefully be out by the summer; https://www.instagram.com/southwalesbouldering/?hl=en.

That's really useful thanks. Would be pretty perfect if that guide was released in tilt.
