There has been a pretty significant tree fall at Caley Crags - see photo. It's actually a big branch system that has broken and fallen over the west face, where routes 1,2,3 are and also slightly affected the primary decent route on the left hand side of the south slab.
Does anyone know who I should contact to report this and try and get it sorted?
Or get someone to do it that knows the best place to cut off the branch for the health of the tree and also the best way to dispose of the branch for maximum environmental benefit with regards to insect hotels, etc. Surely the days of climbers arbitrarily altering the landscape to suit their own needs has long gone and we as a community should be trying to engage with landowners, etc. to try and find the best solution when things like this happen.
