I've got 16th-20th July to spend in the Ala Archa gorge area near Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan before heading to Khan Tengri with Adventure Peaks. I'd like to do a bit of low level walking (see if I can see any wildlife) then perhaps refresh some skills before the main trip. Do you think I'd find someone to climb with if I went up to the Ratsek Hut? Or maybe I should hire a guide from Bishkek, although I'm trying at the moment and communication is a bit slow. If I don't find anyone, are there any peaks near Ratsek that can be soloed - maybe Uchitel?
